Our Past Is One Way, Our Future Another
By Corril Ochsenbein
The coldest night when there was no light My cellphone rang with the intention of pain Suicide knows no mercy and gives no forgiveness The choice was hers, but did others help? Death isn’t a game, but someone helped put her in that pain Her team and coach weren’t there for her Who is at fault and pushed her there? Could I have helped, why didn’t I know? Her life and legacy will always exist Our past is one way, our future another The past can't be changed it has already been written Though our past is final and the choice has been made, our future is unwritten Her past has left an imprint and saved somebody else from making that same choice |
